Endoprostheses are implants, which replace damaged joints, in their entirety or in part. They can consist of titanium alloys, other alloys, plastics, ceramics or combinations of these materials.

Knee prostheses and the surgical methods for their implantation have come a very long way, especially in the last ten years. The physicians at the Competence Centre for Orthopaedics of the Wiener Privatklinik are at the forefront of development in Vienna. This allows an artificial knee joint to be inserted in a minimally-invasive manner with a small incision and a short, high-precision operation.
